I'm getting ready to have mind done if it fails the pressure test. Im loosing coolant out my overflow. It doesn't leak while its running but as soon as I shut I down it starts to purge through the over flow. It wont stop until I open the overflow cap.:argh:

My mileage just turned over 100,400 .

Head gaskets

I had to do mine just after it turned 100k.I had a buddy of mine help me and we had it done in about 20-22 hrs. Before i did mine I had it to the dealers twice and they said they didnt find any thing. But then why did it keep pushing antifreeze out of the resivore and the upper hose would feal like a steel pipe after it sat for about 4hrs. When pulled apart we found that the ring around the cylinder on four of them were failing.

did mine on my own with a bad back, next time if i have to do it id pull the engine out, or lift the cab off.

the biggest annoyance is that damn lb7 downpipe, i broke two 12 point sockets trying to get that thing out. some shops drop the trans because its that much of a pain in the ass.

when I did mine I didnt even pull the turbo, we were able to sneak the intake bolts out, BARELY :yeah: I didn't say that it wasn't a PITA but its much easier to do in the truck than a powerstroke

i didnt pull the turbo out either, but the downpipe isnt a vband clamp on the new models, lb7's have some pain in the ass bolts in them. i pulled the head off with the exhaust and intake manifold on :D
