If you do buy the truck, change every fluid and every filter in the whole truck. Also might want to run some seafoam through it to clean the injectors out.

Seafoam is a bad idea in HPCR engines... I'd never run a solvent through mine!! if any thing i would use some standadyne additive, but never ever seafoam! especially in an LB7 where the injectors are easily harmed:argh:

a 12v cummins will burn anything, I will never run anything besides #2 or a proper diesel additive in my HPCR system, the injectors, pump, ficm are all too pricy to dump solvents into:pca1:

so what does Seafoam actually clean? what deposits are going to be in the injectors that seafoam can remove. seems to me with the tolerances of today's high performance CR systems, any contaminants that seafoam can remove is going to cause serous injector issues. if it is the outside of the injectors or in the cylinders then water injection is best for that.
i know that one time i mistakenly put several gallons of E85 in my tank. all of the alcohol whent to the top of the diesel and when i ran out of diesel it started to run rough and smoke a lot. after i got rid of the E85 and refilled with diesel it ran better then before. seems to me that there must be some truth to injector cleaners. as to which ones work is the question. |

I bought my lb7 last summer with 210k on it, has a 10inch lift on 37s and a bully dog triple dog hand held programmer, cold air intake, had a banks 4" exhaust now has stacks. I have had no major issues with it other than a tranny sensor. I dont regret buying it. Good luck
