i would assume that this would also depend on when the truck was purchased, not when it was made correct? so he "could" still be barely under warranty......
if this is true then you have been changing all your injectors yourself when you could have got them done for free......lol its from the manufacture date they go by. and thats some monkey poo, im lookin up TSB's right now |
Injector warranty
I bought the truck new April 2002
I was told I had almost two more years remaining on this new extended GM warranty. I suggest calling your local dealer for more detail |
well i think that warrenty would be voided if they saw my truck anyway :D
|
can you post proof of the change to 10yrs? I know a lot of guys that coudl really use it. Wont do me any good as I have 356k on mine.
So if you can get written proof of the extentions that would be GREAT. |
i called my dealership and he checked my vin# and he told me that my 7 years was up. and told me that it is about a 4500 dollar fix. i was like no thanks ill do it myself. does anyone know where i can get injectors for a good price? i was wanting to go with 50 or 100 hp inj. but i would setttle for stock if they are the right price
|
you can post up a thread in the price request forum adn our sponsors will PM you quotes. i know when i had my powerstroke it was cheaper to get higher HP injectors than it was to get stock ones. don't know if that is how it goes with the Duramax though....

Subject: 04039C - Special Policy Adjustment - Injector - Replace
Models: 2001-2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2001-2004 GMC Sierra 2004 Chevrolet Kodiak 2004 GMC TopKick Equipped with 6.6L Duramax Diesel (RPO LB7 - VIN Code 1) Engine Technical Service Bulletins 03-06-04-036B and 04-06-04-007I have been incorporated into this bulletin. Please discard all copies of bulletin 04039B, issued November 2007. Condition Some customers of 2001-04 model year Chevrolet Silverado; GMC Sierra; 2003 Chevrolet Kodiak and GMC TopKick vehicles, equipped with a 6.6L Duramax Diesel (RPO LB7 - VIN Code 1) engine, may experience vehicle service engine soon (SES) light illumination, low engine power, hard start, and/or fuel in crankcase, requiring injector replacement, as a result of high fuel return rates due to fuel injector body cracks, ball seat erosion, or high pressure seal extrusion. Special Policy Adjustment This special policy covers the condition described above for a period of 7 years or 200,000 miles (320,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer. Important: This special policy only covers the above noted failure modes, which are identified by high fuel return flow. ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- FYI - Reman GM Dmax Injectors will run you about $225 to $380 a piece depending upon how they quote you. there are also numerous seals you will need to get the job done. |
Injector
There is the statement (per special policy) on the repair invoice
The problem was a internal cracked injector. All work was (n/c) no charge. |
did you just take it in and they told you it was a 10 year warranty or did you have to fight with them a bit?
|
that was 7 not 10
|
Just had all 8 of mine replaced no charge with an edge juice on it.
|
Injector
Did not have to fight at all.
They said only part of an injector failure is covered. My failure was a cracked injector, which was covered under this new warranty. |
absolutly

I don't know where that dealer got his info, but it is 200,000 miles or 7 years from the service date (Day it drove off the lot).
You are out of time on your 2002.......I have been there twice now! I was able to do the injectors myself on both trucks and can say it is not "too" hard. Here is a good link on how to do them! https://www.dieselbombers.com/lb7-bo...tor+tips+hints I was able to replace all 8 on my truck for under $1,000! ! I am sending you a PM. |
