$1000.00 (That is correct, one thousand dollars) 03 Duramax
I have found a 2003 1 ton dually duramax/allison pickup for $1000 dollars. Guy says it runs good when it runs, but it needs a computer. I don't have specifics, but what do you guys think? I don't have the money laying around, be stretching myself thin to get it. Shouldn't be too hard I hope? :w2: Anyhow, I am going to talk to him more to find out what it is doing that he only wants a thousand for it. It only has 102,000 miles.

If you don't buy it let us know, I would jump all over that in a heartbeat as long as it runs enough to get it on a trailer.
get it, even if u cant figure out whats teh problem, u can part it out for more than a grand
i grand i would have already bought it even if it didnt run i could make big money on that:argh:
I finally talked to him about specifics. There are two. Both between 100,000 and 105,000 miles. 3500 2wd dually long frames. 1 has bad rear end and other has a bashed in passenger door. Both start and run with a load, unloaded they both stutter and smoke and he is tired of dealing with it. I am trading for hand tools and a cutting torch, and a couple of air wrenches. SOOO, I am going to fiddle with them (with your help) and then what doesn't work will get parted out REALLY cheap.:U:

Could be a fuel related issue......... |
thats what im thinking, probably fuel filter clogged up...
He says he has been taking them to the dealer every month since he got them, both have identical problems. He didn't sound too mechanically inclined. He replaced them with Fords, so I am not going to mention anything about what it may be. Going to go get one of them in about 30 minutes.
lol...replaced them with Fords? Well, that could be better or worse...
at a grand each there's no way you could lose out on that! |
Well, I have them. Titles notarized and in hand anyhow. My trailer wasn't big enough to hold one (3500 lb axles were bending). Going to get a big truck tomorrow. A $200 set of craftsman tools, $150 tool box, and a $200 torque wrench for both with hydraulic tommy lift flatbeds in good shape.:tttt: OH, and they are 2004's according to the titles and VIN's
pics or ban.....:pca1:
If you decide to sell one for cash to fix the other, let me know. I could use a 2wd dually around.
That's crazy.... Nice find for sure!

Good find! You will make a bunch just parting it out and selling the stuff. :U:
So I have a pic on my phone, sent it to my email. I don't know how to get it on here.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- http://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik...disp=inline&zw ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- https://www.dieselbombers.com/member...53a-564205.jpg ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- front end (lights bumper and grill) put on other pickup. Other than that, it is complete. Tommy lift flatbed included. |
$1500 i'll head your way this weekend and i'll take them both off yer hands.....:pca1:
Well, I got the other one home. The body is VERY rough on it, passenger door bashed in so bad the cab floor is bent in to the seat. So I will probably end up with one good pickup and one frame with an engine and tranny. I guess I need to start looking for my 70's Camaro to put it in now.:Race:
if you dont want the lift gates let me know i could trade for some shop equipment brake lathes and tire machines:tu:
thats crazy... you cant go wrong with that!!! keep us updated on this!!!:pca1:
ill take three.
