no pwr steering or pwr brakes on 93'td

i replaced the pwr steering pump and bled that 2x but that didn't seem to help the steering at all, the brakes i bled but that didn't help the brakes either. i was told it could be a vacuum leak but both brakes and steering don't work. could it be the booster not working? although correct me if i've heard wrong but i've heard that the booster doesn't ever go bad on the 93 6.5 td's.

A new master cylinder for a 93 should be about 20-40$ and a new booster about 125-175$. It's worth not having anymore problems for 20 more years.

mud 12-08-2010 06:19 AM

Prices vary were people live n ya new is always the way to go wen u can afford it! But he saying he cant just trying to help.

steve32 12-08-2010 09:56 AM

a new booster at advanced auto which has decent prices in my area has a booster for $190.00 and a master cylandar for $60. is there a cheaper place maybe online to order from? thankyou mud for keeping the money issue in mind :c:

thirdstreettito 12-08-2010 10:33 AM

Check google shopping. Thats where I got those prices from.

steve32 12-08-2010 10:44 AM

i checked an online parts place called rockauto.com which i heard about through a friend lastnight, the booster and master cylandar and an oil pan gasket i can get for 280 with 2 day express shipping:humm:. i checked some other places and its around 300 to 450 for them both. so rockauto might just be the way to go. seeing some of the prices they have on things is cheaper compared to other places but my buddy and the people he knows has never had any trouble with them.

My ?? is did power steering and brakes work before you did the power steering change

steve32 12-11-2010 12:04 AM

they did, found out that the steering pump shaft snapped so it wasn't working so i replaced it and flushed the system and neither pwr brakes or pwr steering work still.

Crazy 12-11-2010 11:15 AM

are you sure you don't have lines cross and are sure pump is pumping other thing to try crack the lines at booster make sure don't have trap there
