some lift and tire questions
hey guys, im pretty new to here so im looking for some advice i guess you could say. I have a '96 chev 1500 6.5, and im looking at putting a 2" leveling kit on it and a 3" body lift so i can clear 35" tires. does any one have some input, ideas, or things to watch for? I dont need people telling me to just go with a suspension lift. thanks in advance!

cant use body lifts on a 6.5 because it messes with the cooling system. besides there not very safe anyways. better to do it the right way with a actual lift. but with 35 inch tires if you crank the torsion bars or get keys then get 1 ton shackles for the rear i bet they will fit. it will be close though.

im going to get an electric fan once i put the body lift on. ive seen lots of 6.5's with a body lift. and my truck just stays on the street so im not worried about it not being "safe"

well if you ever get in an major acceident the frame will stay put and the body will go flying.

please please please dont use a body lift, i did one back in high school on my ranger and i wish i still had pictures of what the truck looked after i wrecked it, never ever again will i do a body lift on anything
