6.5 Intake manifold
I snapped one of the intake bolt brackets off a 1998 6.5 td. Anyways to fix this or should it bolt up fine with only 9 bolts? this is the driver side bracket near the fire wall.
Thanks for input |
I'm not sure I understand exactly what happened

I was removing the intake manifold. once all the bolts were removed I popped it out with a crowbar and unfortunately snapped one of the caste brackets that holds a bolt through the manifold into the block. I want to know if there is a way to rig something up or say screw it and go without a single bolt

I've seen it done before. Maybe use some right stuff sealant and call it good. I would still put some sealant on the bolt thread and stick one back in the hole
Some of the bolts are through bolts and require sealant anyway. The long studs for sure. The studs I just removed had factory sealant on them yet |

Lower intakes are not that terrible expensive or hard to find. You should be able to have one for less than $75.
There was a couple of F intakes at ACme Auto in Kankakee, Illinois the last time I was there. You can always call and see what he would want for a shipped price. |
