Chevy 6.5 won't stay running

I've got a little hiccup Truck ran fine up until today around 1pm. I recently did a oil change I ran Wynns tuneup as I wanted to help clean the oil Changed the oil and filter and put stp high mileage additive in it. Drove approx 100 km this morning. Washed it and was on my way home when it started stalling Checked the oil it was low and not black at all I topped it up nd it started stalling again.

It has a pmd relocate. Has the egr codes with the egr line blocked off with a screw. I live in AB so I am running the shell v max diesel.

Any help appreciated

Loosen fuel brass t and monitor fuel pressure key on engine off...most likely common lift pump ops issue 100$ and an hour will fix both.:choochoo:

Thanks Detroitdiesel. Just another question It sounds like the glow plug relay stays running. I hear continuous clicking while idling it is something I should worry about. Starts up fairly easy in the cold. With the relay running will it burn out the glow plugs ?

The lift pump makes a clicking noise. Is that what your hearing?

Glow plugs will cycle a few times after startup "afterglow". After that controller shouldn't supply power generally if your glow plug light it is not on the glow plugs are not heating. Never heard a lift pump clicking although the lift pump relay will click on firewall I'd check all relays if your still stumped...post a video on YouTube and post web I'd here?

Clicking your hearing could be your ac fan clutch as well

I popped open the fuse box and noticed they have a 30a fuse in the ecm slot with a jumper pulled them both out (accidentally) truck shut off. I popped them back in no noticeable clicking and drove to work fine. The clicking I was talking about was fast And continuous

Update that jumper does have something to do with the lift pump. I plugged it back in and clicking continued

Is the truck new to you? I'd be willing to bet the OPS went bad a someone jumped power to the lift pump.
Not sure what LP Detroit is running but a stock 6.5 lift pump does make a repetitive click. My 92 has stock exhaust and I can even hear it with the motor running.

Wouldn't say lift pump makes a clicking noise wouldn't know how to describe it but you can't hear lift pump with engine running as op posted saying was happening but most likely thts what happened they ran lift pump power to a supply under the fuse box that is hot when key is on ..someone did that with mine before I got it but used a toggle switch...kinda dumb shouldve just bought a new ops
