Ok so i changed fuel filter to one that actually fix the housing (oreily are idiots) and air filter and changed the oil and it started right up.....it idle fine and i also cleaned out the metal shavings and debris that were inside the fuel filter housing...i drove it around for about a hour and now it accelerates on its own and when ur cruising it will like down shidt and doing 60mph the tachs at 2300rpms when it should be around 1900-2000 and it will go from 2000 rpm to idle and then it will reciver and then i barely touch the pedal and it will go back to 2000rpms.....so i changed the pmd and relocated it to the front bumper...and it still accelerates on its own and does the samething as it did before i changed the pmd except the new pmd dont have the resistor in it yet til tomorrow..i ordered a #9 ...so any suggestions could it be air in thefuel lines...cuz i kbo on a gas motor if u get air leak on the intake ot will do the same thing...or could it be another pmd....the IP has been recently replaced...any suggestion would be helpful

Sorry its the 98.....i dont get the 95 until i can get out to vegas to get that....thats a whole other problem too...

could this problem be a air leak?? or could it be the Injection system?

racer55 01-21-2013 09:50 PM

IP is toast is the most likely problem.

Air in the lines doesn't react the way you describe.

racer55 01-21-2013 09:52 PM

I think you have a dud IP.

camaro075 01-21-2013 09:59 PM

Alright is there anyway to test or troubleshoot it? I hate to have to replace it for 800-1300 bucks....

do they make a IP for performance or already turned up?
And do they sell a mechanical IP that u can swap out and get rid of the PMD
or would it be easier to just leave the electronic IP installed??

camaro075 01-21-2013 10:14 PM

Ok.is there a way to test the IP??

do they sell a mechanical pump to get rid of the pmd setup???
or is it easier or better to keep the same setup??
also do they sell a hi performance IP?? thanks

But see the thing is that it doesnt alwaus mess up...its only sometime and when itcdoes mess up it only last a short period of time then it stops...could be cuz of no pmd resistor??....i hate to say its theip....but if it is then it is..

Here is a link for the DB2 conversion guide(mechanical IP):
My Files

All electronic IP's have the same performance potential-the ECM tune is what is the power adder.

Best to ask a mod to consolidate both of your threads into 1,no need to ask then and get answers for the same thing twice.

so i called Heath Diesel and asked them about what was going on and they said it was the IP. so I guess ill go ahead and by it from them since it comes with there upgraded PMD but im still going to relocate it. and its not a Reman IP its a new one. Comes with a 3 yr warranty unlimited mileage. I am also going to order max tor ecm and exhaust. then hopefully it will run better then what has been running. Just hate to put all this money in her and then it be the same thing. but how well its not like i cant get this money out of it. I got it for free so cant gripe too much...thanks everybody
