You need to do a compression test to check cam timing and prove that you have good cylinder compression.

Next if that is good is to look at the drive gear on the IP,you can do this by removing the oil fill tube.
The IP drive flange has 3 bolt holes and 1 dowel pin,the drive gear has 3 round holes and 1 slotted hole-the dowel pin must be in the slotted hole.

I don't have a way of preforming a compression test. I will remove the oil fill tube next, will i need to drain the oil first? So once fill tube is off what am I looking for just that dowel pin is in slotted hole? Thank you so much for the fast reply!

Yes pull the fill tube off the frt of the timing cover(no you won't need to drain the oil) and verify that the dowel is in the slotted hole.

harbor freight sells compression testers very cheap,they connect at the glow plug holes.
All glow plugs need to be removed for compression testing to give the starter a chance.
400psi minimum is considered acceptable.
Be sure to unplug the PMD before doing a compression test-you don't need fuel in those cylinders then.Remember to plug it back in later though.

Ah something I mentioned but didn't bring up again, this truck has a DS2 IP so it is mechanical, no PMD. That adds ALOT more variables to the equation I know but I don't have the time or money to switch it back over to an electric IP. I have to work tomorrow so I won't be able to get to it until Tuesday at the earliest.

Also another late thought to add to our pondering minds; no smoke when I crank the motor. Confirmed fuel, and glow but no smoke.
