im sorry bud that sucks.

we had a few fires start here last summer when texas was super dry. alls i can say is pray and if you can get a hold of the FD you may let them know that you (or friends) have tractors and are willing to help do containment (from a safe distance) that is what we did out here when there where 6 fires burning the the local forest service and FD was overwhelmed. they put us a long way away from the fire but had us using box blades to make 200' wide tracks to prevent the spread incase the fire got close

Yeah the real problem is we have gotten to good at our jobs. Mother nature uses fire to remove ground and ladder fuels. However, we have put a stop to that natural process with our aggressive fire suppression. My theory, if no structures are in harms way let it burn. If not you get crown fires which turn into fire storms. People think a dense forest is a healthy one, that is not correct. You should have around 50 trees per acre. We need to do a better job of forest management.

First off brother, STAY SAFE! I wish the enviromentalist's would be honest with themselves for once. The tree huggers need to witness a wildfire first hand to see how not thinning the brush, and supressing the natural fire cycle effects the people there. I hope the monsoon season starts quick for ya'll, so mother nature can help you out with some rain. take care.

Fire is still rolling. The wind is not near as bad as Saturday and Sunday.:scare2:

Fire is an amazing tool. My mom was a fuels specialist for the forest service and BLM. grew up around prescribed burning and summer fire season. Even had family members get killed fighting fire. I had the chance to finally go out on a fire last year and it was amazing.

I'm always sorry to hear about the loss of property and live which comes with fire.

This is Ski Apache the USA's most southern ski area. This is where the fire originated.

Thankfully Jenn no reported deaths just about 234 homes destroyed. Which sucks but they can be replaced.
