ok so i have this idea, ive been on you tube looking at briggs and startton (lawn mower motors) that have been converted to either compressed air or steam and its got me thinking.
if i was to take a really small turbo and run it on the motor and start the turbo with a vaccum that the motor would run by it self??? because the air from the turbo would go into the motor, run the motor, and pass out the exaust which then re-powers the turbo? does anyone else think this would work.
i think if it did and you used valves and a transmission it could work on a large scale.
idk what do you think??:scare2:

What is going to move the piston(s)? I don't think air pressure alone will translate to piston movement with out combustion.:pca1:

ive seen it done before. if you grind the camshaft properly where the intake valve opens at nearly top dead center on the downward stroke and the exaust at the bottom of the stroke the pressure will move it. but i have read it can take up to as much as 50 lbs of air pressure

yeah the turbo would have to supply a whole lot of air. im going to try it tomorrow or the next day and ill let you know how it goes. without the turbo at first lol:w2:

now if you where to inject some flammable gas between the turbo and the engine and figured out how to light it i should cause the pressure to go up and rotate the engine. one way that i was thinking you could light the fuel is run a wire to the cylinder and set up a spark from some high voltage source. now in order to keep the turbo supplying air to the engine you will need to supply it with high velocity gas on to the turbine. a good way to do this is to rout the exhaust from the engine to the turbine side of the turbo. the trick to all of this is to get it to work in unison. of course you'll need to throw in some timing device and open/close the valves on time but i think you could get it to work. this is what i would like to see

So are you planning on putting FUEL of some sort into this engine or are you planning on breaking the laws of thermodynamics and causing the universe to immediately spin into oblivion?
