How do u heat your shop
Just cleaned and fired up the used oil burner. all ready for winter. what does everyone else use for heat in your shop? before i got my shop built it was hand warmers and carhartts.
here is a video of it http://s650.photobucket.com/albums/uu229/nelson86m/video/?action=view¤t=1010110613.mp4 |
So where's the vent?
I use a couple of 98% efficient gas furnaces in our shop, one for the office and one for the sheet metal shop. When we slow down, we're going to put a radiant heater in the warehouse/ mechanic area. Next years plans call for a roof top package a/c for the sheetmetal shop as well, gotta keep the guys happy. |
I use a power vented, natural gas Modine Hi Efficiency unit heater. 175,000 BTU
|
What ever the sun provides on the driveway.
|
It vents out the back side on the top, the hole in the center top in a air inlet
|
Damn nelson that things sounds evil haha.
|
In floor hot water radiant heat.

Wood stove and coveralls. Still have 3 or 4 more trees to drop, cut, and split before it gets cold

A vented natural gas Modine unit
|
used tires

On those very few days, that it mite drop under 60* & the blankets can't provide the warmth I need I'll turn on the central heat in the house:w2:

$25k+ worth of hi efficiency wood boiler, plumbing, pumps, hot water storage tanks, & control computer system. :D
But, to be fair, it also heats the house and the old milkhouse where the well is. And all my hot water both in the house and in the milkhouse (now washup room since were not milkin cows) The boiler itself is located in the shop, so waste heat from the boiler and piping will heat the shop alot. If more is needed, there's a hot-water to air heater in there as well. |
I had a wood heater built from a old diesel tank off a rig. I used scrap oak 4x4s from work were we load trucks. It didnt me a penny and worked great.

no heat - I freeze my ass off in the winter

I have the propane one, (Mr. Heater - America's Most Popular Portable Heaters) i like it a lot, used it a lot before i got my oil burner built. dad also has a propane one that he uses out at the farm, he likes it a lot, uses a lot of tarp tents to work on equipment.
