What else will happen… Thank you Obama.

Goodbye to ABC TV

ABC News Joins Obama- Bans American Flag Lapel Pins-

ABC NEWS BANS FLAG LAPEL PINS

This is what we get from the present stuff going on in Washington .

What next? It still scares me!!

Barbara Walters said that this was going to hurt ABC bad. As
You know
She works for ABC .

ABC NEWS BANS FLAG LAPEL PINS!
YESTERDAY THE BRASS AT ABC NEWS ISSUED ORDERS FORBIDDING
REPORTERS TO
WEAR LAPEL PIN AMERICAN FLAGS OR OTHER PATRIOTIC INSIGNIA.

THEIR REASONING WAS THAT ABC SHOULD REMAIN NEUTRAL

ABOUT 'CAUSES'.

SINCE WHEN IS PATRIOTISM TO BE DISCOURAGED?
I URGE YOU TO BOYCOTT ABC AND ITS SPONSORS AND AFFILIATES.
WE ARE
SLOWLY LOSING EVERYTHING OUR COUNTRY STANDS FOR AND
EVERYTHING OUR MEN AND WOMEN FOUGHT AND DIED TO PRESERVE!
PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO AS MANY AS YOU CAN.

THIS HAS BEEN VERIFIED THROUGH:
During the Days After 9/11 ABC News Discouraged the Wearing of American Flag Pins by Reporters-Truth

"If" it's true, it's a bone head idea.

I think we need to send the top brass over to the rockpile as "observers."

When the chit hits the fan, since they won't be able to identify them, becuase they're "neutral", we can either shoot them, or let the others side have them as potential spies (lol).
Either way, takes care of two problems at once.

1) reporters
2) lapel pins.

I always thought that the American flag was something that was supposed to have more respect than to be tacked onto lapel pins as a superficial display of "patriotism".

I'm fully with Obama on not wearing a flag lapel pin. I don't think that people really had a problem with it, and were just using it as cheap political fodder because they could... But anybody that seriously has a problem with somebody else not wearing a flag lapel pin as a matter of personal taste, I take issue with.

I also take issue with "hands over heart during the national anthem" zealots, but that's another thread.

So what? You think you have a better idea what people should do with their hand during the national anthem?

farmerdude 09-26-2011 08:32 PM

You can bet your ASS I'll either have my hat,or my hand over my HEART.Whenever the STAR SPANGLED BANNER plays,or the PLEDGE OF ALLIGENCE is said.:usa:

Whatever they feel like doing to display their respect for the national anthem.

Putting your hand over your heart is a means of displaying sincerity during a statement or an oath, as in during a pledge of allegiance. Listening to the national anthem isn't a moment to display sincerity, since you're not saying anything; it's a moment to display respect. I stand at attention to display respect. It's how I was raised.

You can do as however you see fit as an independent American citizen. Just because our Congress puts their heads together to come up with a "code" that says I should put my hand over my heart doesn't mean I'm going to. Really it means I'm more inclined not to. If you're judging somebody based on a superficial body position, I think you're a petty-brained fascist with an authority fetish.

Incidentally, that same "code" says that US flags shouldn't be put on cheap and disposable objects... Like patriotic banners, the little flags you find at cemeteries and, dare I say, flag lapels.

I served my country because I want to . I hold my hand over my heart and remove my hat when the National Anthem is played out of respect for those that gave far more than I for people like minded as you to have the freedom not to . Do I agree with you hell no .
