TXDOT shouldn't have even licensed the truck. Gonna be strict laws coming for jacked up vehicles, State and 99% Federal.

Shame what happened to her. No reason she should've been killed.

And I don't get the real reason why people do lift kits in the first place. They think it's cool, they think they're bigger men?? One alternate is they got money falling out their :moon:

yes it's horrible what happened to her. But it is partly her fault i mean they teach you in kindergarden stop look listen and to look both ways yes he shouldnt have been driving but if he was completey sober that still could have happened

Tough issue there... Chica should have heard and/or saw a Powerstroke on 44's... Now if he was driving a lifted hybrid, that would be a different issue.

Sad deal, Thats like walking right infront of the bumper on a Classic Peterbilt or a W900 Kenworth. The driver isn't going to see you.

i think there will be laws on lifts it may not be tomorrow but i believe you'll start to see it. i also agreed there is no need to be that high. in the mud fine but remember your axles are only so high. semi's are one thing and those drivers have to prove they can handle the semi and it's hood height but a huge lift that the guy probably never uses that now killed someone is something different. he wasn't aware of his surroundings. he most likely did not take a test for driving that truck.

wow, this is nuts! realy why do people think they need a truck that high? there is a chevy driving around here in idaho that is insane! i am 5'10" and the door hits me at eye level! stupid if you ask me but to each there own

that article is attacking the truck when they should be focusing on the drunk driver and the woman who wasnt paying any attention.

Plus theres already laws in most states governing lifted vehicles but i doubt tougher laws will help in this case. More than likely both parties were drunk and not paying attention.

I am personally not a fan of trucks that dang big but to each his/her own. In this case, I cant blame the truck for being high, i blame the idiot driver for not only not paying attention but for driving after drinking as well.
I also put blame onto the victim. I sympathize for her and her family but had she been paying attention, she probably could have avoided walking directly in front of a running truck. Its not like she was on the sidewalk and he ran off the road, like I said, im sure alcohol played a big part in this tragic incident

How many accidents happen w/ lifted vehicles?? Screwed up you only hear about the ones where the driver is impaired.

Sad story, we had a woman here killed a couple months back when she walked into the path of a municipal one ton dump that was plowing a public parking lot. The plow driver was backing up and never saw her and just like that she lost her life. Worst part is she was on her way into a realtor's office where her husband was waiting for her to close on a house. They realized somthing was going on outside and he went out to find his wife gone. People tried to blame the driver of the truck saying he was going too fast but I wouldn't say it was his fault because he was backing up and I've never seen a municipal truck without a backup alarm. Sometimes by just not paying attention for a second life can change forever, sad :c:
