along with the 110lb yellow lab, and 60lb basset hound my wife wants a pot bellied pig.. yep i wrote that right!! i have heard they can be trained like dogs and all which isnt my prob but when we go places who is going to watch the pig? this pig would be in the house with our dogs and us. i mean kennels watch dogs but do they watch pigs? and what about car rides? we drive 4.5 hours to visit her family, will the pig be a pain in the .. for the ride? also we boat too.. bring the dogs on the boat but what do we do about the pig? looking for some input here guys!! thanks!
of course if i let her get a pig then maybe i can tell her if she gets a pig i get an ATV? :tu:

GuyWithA24Valve 12-08-2010 01:23 PM

Idk, I guess personally I would rather go with out an ATV

rednekroper05 12-08-2010 01:48 PM

they can be trained but from the people that i know that some they are a P.I.A to put up with all the time. I wouldnt ever consider ever getting one.

Rooster24v 12-08-2010 02:08 PM

even if there is a potential ATV in it for me? :w2:

Mdub707 12-08-2010 02:50 PM

I've heard nothing but good things from them. They're smarter than dogs and can be trained very well. I know there is a guy on powerstrokenation that has a couple of them that stay in the house.

Tell her you're getting an ATV, and she needs to get her head examined!:s:

get her another dog, she will forget about the pig.

Racer9 12-08-2010 05:06 PM

You know, if the pigs too much of a PIA, I hear they're pretty tasty!:w2:

brindle_bull 12-08-2010 05:49 PM

If the wife and kid came home with one of them
I'd be tempted to run it over with the truck.

They're called accidents. Right?

Get her a pet skunk and remove the sent glands! Seen a guy at the feed store one time with one walking around with him. I was like WTF when I seen it. The guy said it acts just like a cat. Or you could be a real bad sob and get a gator for a pet!

itshistruck 12-09-2010 11:18 AM

i had a pet pig when i was younger..the woman told me it was a pot belly but the thing got to be almost 300lbs. it never did go to the bathroom inside but it did root the doors up b/c it had its own bed room and we kept him in there when we were gone but other than that they arent to bad but they do bite

DieselCrawler 12-09-2010 11:37 AM

that'l do pig, that'l do.

riddick01 12-09-2010 03:23 PM

tell her she can get the pig if u get the bacon when hes full grown...that will put an end to it

gunman41mag 12-09-2010 08:54 PM

I was told that those POT BELLY PIGS will become a BIG PORKER:humm: They don't stay small. Get your wife a RACCOON, had a friend that had one, but it like staying up at night:argh:

joebob3093 12-09-2010 11:47 PM

my uncle used to have a pot belly pig. the pig was a pain in the ass and DESTROYED there house. like new floors, walls, paint. i would tell her no.
