hubometer
stopped at Flying J this morning to fuel up and thought I'd use the 18 wheeler pumps.
put CC in, entered my zip, then i was prompted for a hubometer number. the machine didn't like my 11111 entry... any idea what i should have entered? |
I have a hubometer I stole a while ago.
Want it? I'll sell it to you. I think it's operational. |

Actually it is a hubdometer. Some fleets use these to varify fuel purchased verses miles operated for fuel tax purposes.

So why didn't it like the 111,111 input then? That sounds like an odometer reading to me.
They'll sell you fuel still no matter what you do or don't put in, right? |
The hubometer is probably a weak attempt to keep drivers from stealing fuel, but the hubometer aint goin any farther than the odometer so IDK what its actual purpose is.

For 1 hubometers keep track of milage on trailers, wich are constantly being swapped from one tractor to another. Most fleets require a hub reading any time a vendor performs service work on a trailer.
