Dumbest dealer comments
Needed some bolts:

A few of my buddies stopped to look at a cummins last year, brand new at the dealer. They were outside with the salesman and he let them start it up. It ran for about 5 minutes then the salesman said... and I quote.... "it's not good to let the diesel idle as the carbs will gel up in them".... I don't know how they kept a straight face.

i was told that a blown egr valve wasnt covered under warranty bc i put a light bar and bumper on my truck.
i was told a blown HPOP wasnt under warranty bc i put aftermarket wheels on the truck i was told my blown egr cooler wasnt covered because my truck wasnt bought in the state of texas (i had bought it at that dealership) ive been told that puttin different nerf bars on my truck would void any and all waranty bc i was changing the way the truck came from the factory. ive had alot of time spent with dealers and they r (more often that not) IDIOTS |
I went to a used car dealer once to, looking for a new truck. Walking around the lot talking to the salesman about this truck and that truck when I spot a 92-96 body style Ford across the lot and asked if it was a diesel. He said "I think so" and looked at his little sheet. I walk over check over the exterior of the truck and think to myself "no Power Stroke badge, no diesel badges at all." So I pop the hood and by now the salesman is standing next to me, I take one glance at the engine and say "that aint a diesel, that's a 460 big block." He goes "how'd you do that?" I said "I know my engines" At that point, I got in my truck and left that lot. For this reason, I don't like shopping at dealers. I haven't found one yet that actually knew what they were selling.:s:

The Mazda RX7 didn't fail because of rotary engine reliability issues, it was because Mazda went into financial hardship, but they are releasing many new models now...
Oi that guy was an idiot. |
I went to the dealer 2 weeks ago to order and oil cap and seal. A salesman walked me back to the parts dept and he was asking me what I need. I told him and he said "ya know we have a special this month, you buy a new truck you get a free oil cap." I shook my head and walked away. And apparently there is an in-house shoeshine guy and he asked if I wanted my boots polished. I was wearing distressed steel toe pull-on WORK BOOTS.

Oh I got a chuckle out of it. But I shook my head at how pathetic and ruthless they are.

i was test drivin a brand new tundra. i asked the guy if he wanted to go back to the dealership. he said "nah, im still getting paid just keep driving" 2 hours later after doin some brake stands, sliding some corners and straight up rodding the piss out of the pickup we went back.

At a GM dealership here I went in on two occasions and they could not find part numbers for me...these were common parts too, it's not like I was looking for something that is hand delivered by horse and sherpa trekking through the Himilayan mountains to my door. These guys really were that stupid.
I ended up finding the parts on GMpartsdirect.com and purchased them through ebay. That dealership is scheduled to close. |
Dealer: I can not seek for parts, if I don't have the VIN.
Me: Shall I show you how to operate your system? Of course you can- you don't know how to- thats a difference. wanted to have a thermo switch for 90° C: gave the number 123 456 789 D Parts: sorry, Sir thats a 110°C switch A = 80°C B = 90°C C = 100°C D = 110°C me: so? just seek for the proper ending- is that so difficult? parts: that 90°C switch does not exist under that number! |
Me: I need a rebuild kit for a holley 650 double pumper. May i see your holley parts book.
Counter guy: I'll look it up. Year make and model? Me: You won't find it that way. CG: Year make... Me: 77 plymouth arrow. CG: Engine? Me: 360 small block. CG: What? Me: 5.9L CG: Sir that engine isn't on my list. :argh: I laughed at his incompetence and walked out. Gotta love Murrays/o'rileys. |
Worst thing I ever believed from a dealership: "We had our Cummins specialist look at the truck and the transmission is shifting 'as designed'! It should be a good truck for you..."
3 months later the trans exploded. There was no usable pieces left... :argh: |
WAIT! cummins makes trannies?????? OMG i never knew!
HAHAHAHAH :moon: shouldnt have believed them... :argh::argh::ouch: |
lol hilarious!

This wasn't from a dealer but from the adjuster from a insurance company. After my wreck I was told "well since your trucks a rear wheel drive you don't have a rear axle" huh still confused by that one but it made many good laughs later.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Ohhh and one time I was told my 2wd 5speed needed a automatic trans flush and transfer case service done. |

Today at the Chrysler/ Jeep dealer:
I ordered a lower xj diesel coolant hose- what do we have here? This looks like a upper gasser coolant hose... next thing: Hey, I need some bolts to fix the down pipe to the charger. Salesperson:I'm sorry they are no longer in stock. Me: What? That car is 10 years old and you don't have the bolts? What about the Voyager- same engine- give me some Voyager bolts. Salesperson: I'm sorry, they aren't able to deliver either. So what now, any alternatives? Salesperson:I'm sorry we don't have any parts available. Me: OK, just give me 5 studs from the exhaust manifold to the charger- if you don't have bolts I will use rods. Salesperson: Are you sure, that they have the same size? Me: You ask me about that? Yes, they have the same size. Do you remember I replaced them last week and ordered them here... So I travelled 80 miles today to find out to come home empty hands, grrrr:bat. |
