how to create a wireless network via router with wireless internet service
here is the deal i want to ditch hughes.net and the $90 a month for crap internet .
my droid gets 3G internet at my house and i can tether it and its faster than my satellite internet . i want to buy a wireless usb device , i think they are like $40 per month ,, and hook it up to a router so my house has a wireless network i have 4 computers wii and ps3 , dsi , and my tv on my wireless network , so i need to create this network using a wireless provider |

I bet your gonna have a bandwidth limit on the phone to. :humm:
|
i have unlimited data so the phone dont have a limit , but the mifi has a 5gb/mth limit which is not enough , often time i exceed 400MB per day
|
Yup... Thats why at&t wont allow tethering yet since they dont have a per month plan setup for it yet. Otherwise at the moment its unlimited :D Talk about total system shut down if they allowed it :scare2:

I tether with at&t
they just don't allow tethering with the iphone, because if that happened they or any other cell provider don't have the back-haul bandwidth available to support it. I tether with my touch pro 2 and get around 1.5 - 2.3mbps out of a max 3.2mbps right now, verizon is a bit slower and both have a 5gb limit per month! unlimited on *just* the phone. if you tether it unlimited goes to 5gb, that's any provider.. if they catch you tethering (higher usage normally) you will have one hell of a bill. |
What is tethering?

Tethering is when you use a phone's internet connection on your computer.
The vzw "unlimited" smartphone plan does have a cap and its actually around 6 gigs iirc. I used to do exactly what your saying. Get the mifi or a card though over tethering to a gateway device. The phone connection drops all the time, the card is a little better. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk |
I had an Alltel plan. They never put a cap on their internet plans. SO I have a plug in USB Card and unlimited internet and Rev. A coverage. :tttt: take that boys.

I don't see how they can charge ya if you tether on Verizon since I have never been told I couldn't. :w2:
