I didn't know about the fish oil- just fourty tries to find the right formula.
We also use petroleum jelly for long term storage- it's very good for machined surfaces.

Most of you remember the bulky gallon stamped steel canisters WD-40 was(is) sold in?
If it sits a long period of time rust will develop inside the canister. It is important to shake that can once in a while to avoid seperating indigridients.

Spray it on warm and hot surfaces (engine bay). The heat evaporates WD-40 real quick leaving a protectant surface film which makes further cleaning and handling easier.

Stainless steel itself shouldn't rust. It's basically transmitted rust from other metal surfaces.
For that reason we have special stainless tools to avoid this.

You have an ATV? Spray it on the underside of your fenders. Mud won't stick that bad until next cleaning.

"Stainless" is the improper word for the majority of alloys. Stain-resistant is more correct, Stainless just sounds better to the consumer.

WD 40 doesnt have crap on PB Blaster. just saying

kazairl 05-07-2010 09:12 AM

For a penetrating oil? I agree. But then I prefer Free or Kroil over PB Blaster.

But for most of us who dislike the smell of penetrating oils WD40 works better as it doesn't smell so much.

You can add one more to your list. WD40 also works great for detangling hair. We use it a lot in getting cockleburrs and stickers out of our horses' manes and tails. Spray it on and it works out much much easier with a comb. Way better than just hacking it all off. Never tried it on human hair but I bet it works just as good.

There must be something other than fish oil in there. On the can it says it poison.

Probably not the best idea to put that on your skin like tip 36 says. My uncle knew a guy that actually did that. He claimed it worked.

It burns pretty good too.
I don't believe there is any fish oil in it. It seems to be pure petroleum destilates.

I use WD 40 also with an acetylen torch to loosen stuborn plugs in engine blocks.
heating up the plug with the torch. Let it cool off again and spray it with WD. Take a small wrench and screw the plugs out with ease.
