Beta Fish

Well the boy has had a beta fish for 2 years , Finally decided to put something else in the tank with it , look at its aquarium buddies and one was an African frog , so we got one and the next day all thats left of the fish is a skeleton , Now how this little (and now Fat) frog could take out a Japanese Fighting Fish I have No Clue but it did then ate him .

So the Demon Frog is getting flushed and were getting the boy a new beta

Buckshotmckee 06-14-2007 12:32 PM

That would have been cool to watch!

CHenry 06-14-2007 02:02 PM

get an Oscar for the frog and see what happens....

bow2no1 06-14-2007 02:17 PM

find somthing else to test against the frog

DB Admin 06-14-2007 02:21 PM

The only other aquarium buddy is a See threw looking little shrimp it would be frog food in about 30 seconds ,

This frogs a bastard maybe ill put another frog in there ..lol

DB Admin 06-14-2007 02:22 PM

You know i never seen the frog eat any of the beta food , you think that it would turn into a carnivore if it was hungry enough?

CHenry 06-14-2007 02:22 PM

He won't eat an Oscar...Oscar wil eat him.

DB Admin 06-14-2007 02:23 PM

Whats an Oscar ?

CHenry 06-14-2007 02:23 PM

The are a mean bastad...popular aquarium fish i think.

bow2no1 06-14-2007 02:25 PM

i can send you over a 5lb lobster that should take care of him..
well......thats is of course if he made it to the fish tank and not the cooking pot... it would be a shame to mix the too of them up

CHenry 06-14-2007 02:26 PM

an oscar
Food Habits
The natural diet of oscars consists largely of smaller fishes, crustaceans, gastropods, and aquatic insects or insect larvae. Although oscars are generally sluggish or inactive, they are capable of ambushing and capturing fleeing prey over short distances. Oscars in captivity exhibit voracious, somewhat indiscriminate feeding habits.

rolloffhill 06-14-2007 03:29 PM

rolloffhill 06-14-2007 04:19 PM

Mine is only 215 gallons, and there are probably about 70-80 fish in there right now....:)

DB Admin 06-14-2007 10:57 PM

OK OK just got back from wally world And i found out the issue here ...

I looked back at the beta fish tag and it said aquarium buddies Ghost Shrimp , African Frogs and a few others i called BS on it and told them that little frog killed my boys fish they said Thats because you have a female beta ... Heres the Tag for the female and it had completely different buddies So ... duhhhhhhhhhhhh who would of thought it ,

So We got a MALE beta and a ghost Shrimp thats Knocked up you can see the eggs and put them both in there with the frog ,

I looked at the oscars $10 a piece NO WAY and they dont look violent till you look at the bottom of the tank and see every other kind of fish dead

I didnt get one , i paid 29cents for the shrimp and $3 for the beta ...lol

Cowboy_Customs 06-15-2007 09:23 AM

huh, I had a red Beta for years. That darned fish out lasted everything I ever had in mine.
I mixed mine in with all sorts of things, sword fish, head n tail light, Gorami, Angels, ummmm.......... the obvious Plucostimus, n a few others.

I have an old book that I used to build mine up. It has compatibility of certain types in it.

Thats a great lookin tank u got there! I cant immagine how much work them things r. I never exceeded 30 Gal.
It is a pretty good amount of work too.
Good to hear your boy is doin a good job DM, u must be doin somethin right! :sen:

I never understood why anyone wants fish as a pet. They're worse then a damn cat, at least once in a while you can pet the damn cat.:pc:

DB Admin 06-15-2007 01:52 PM

The boy learns to feed them and clean the tank
The Bubbles puts him to sleep
The Light is like a nite light for him

Thats pretty much why he has some fish

DM

bow2no1 06-15-2007 02:02 PM

2141pete 06-15-2007 02:46 PM

dozerboy 06-15-2007 04:40 PM
