Hehe, in Iceland we're obligated to learn English and Danish in children school. Then we can learn German,French and Spanish in College.

I chose to learn German since my fathers family is originated from there.

So i speak and write good in English and Danish but only write good in German, haven't got the hang of speaking it good yet. Although i might manange :)

i had a boxer name Bones, i found him wandering down my road one day, he was 18 months old and looked like he was about 5-6 months old (vet thinks previous owners fed him enough to keep him alive and in a very tiny cage)......my friends 10 months old boxer was almost twice his size......i took him home and threw him in the shower and squirted soap all over him and let him run around in there a while then dried him off and he rode into town with me that day, he loved riding in the front seat of my ranger, mom gave him a really good bath that night in the sink and that helped get rid of the bugs......i would go through the drive through at the local ice cream place and the wimmens loved him......he always got free ice cream to eat.....sadly he got out of mymoms house when she was taking care of him and he got hit by a car.....

i also had a St. Bernard that had this insane idea it was ok to ride on the top of the tool box while driving down the road at 55-60 mph.....

i have got two beagle/red hound named buddy and emily, got them soon after i bought my first house. right after i got my "ball and chain hooked up" i came across a boarder collie that an amish man was going to shoot cause she had the worms. i was doing work for him when i saw him dragin her behind the barn i was workin on. he was sellin the litter for 75 a pup, i told him i would give him 50 for her, and that was the best 50 i ever spent. after we got her cleaned up, and the worms figured out, great dog. been 2 years and couldn't think of life with out her. oh BTW thats my lil sis, shes pretty cool too, LOL:pals:

HEY another Malamute owner!:c:

angelic0- 05-10-2009 07:28 PM

Iceland is crawling wit Huskies, but no-one's got the guts to get a REAL Malmute.

I've been wanting one since i was a child.

Why do you need "guts" to own a Malamute? :humm: Klondike has been a delight to own and has been a true and loyal friend. We would own another one in a second and so would everyone who has ever been around him.

Don't let my avatar fool ya. Actually Klondike is about the most laid-back mutt on the planet. He travels great and rides just about everywhere with us. Even been to Yellowstone and Moab, UT a couple times! He's probably got 30,000 miles or more under his tail.

The avatar pic is just one of the games he likes to play. He'll push his muzzle under my chin until I start gnawing on it. Soon as I do, the teeth come out. If I stop, he flops his paw on my leg and shoves his face under my chin until I start chewing on him again. Don't know why he likes it so much, but for some unknown reason, he can't get anyone else to play!

scottsjeeprolet 05-10-2009 08:48 PM

Malamutes are the best!
I had one for 12 years and he was great, he was a 130# Wolf Sable. Great friend and even better watch dog. I miss him every day!

One thing I really like about Klondike is he rarely barks. He howls and grumbles but hardly ever barks. Only time he barks is when he sees someone outside the picture window he doesn't know, which works out great for wifey when she's home alone.

Here's a few more pics of him, including him howling.

i'm not saying they're trouble but they are big and need a lot of exercise.

Rottwelers have their reputation of being savage, but it's all up to how you raise them.

Mine can be pushed very far ti'll they snap.

dieseldude03 05-11-2009 01:46 PM

My wife had a Rottie when I first met her. He was a giant knuckle-head, but far from savage. Any breed of dog can be pushed to the point of viciousness. Just some take a little less pushing than others.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Blue Heeler, is that a breed?

Is he aged or is that the way his fur is colored?

Also, we don't see these Blue Lacys here either, we've got tons of Boxers (mis-well bred though).

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

The German Shepherd (Schäfer) is also a popular breed here although mostly owned by Police Officers (don't ask me why this has become a trend).

Beagle's are always cute, wish there were more of them here to breed from.

We all know terriers, they're not children friendly in my experience though.

bosslady 05-11-2009 06:11 PM

blue heelers , red heelers and queensland heelers are actually " Australian cattle dogs" no one calls them that tho... we call em heelers... blue, red and queenslands...all have diff colors and markings :U:.... and the fur is that color when they are pups :U: very handsome doggies
