got me a new computer

got me an ASUS Eee PC 900 ASUS 8.9" Eee PC Netbook Computer with Windows XP : Target

it was a little more than i could have got it online instead of at Target, but i'm not gonna complain about the 30 dollar difference in targets price and the online price of $299. currently trying to get all the windows updates done on it..... then to mirror my other laptop on software and it'll be my new travel computer. from what i've seen already it is well worth the money. the size is small but for those of us that travel a lot it is nice to not lug around 5-10 pounds of stuff, network cable, computer, charger, usb cable, and other accessories....

it makes my screen on this laptop (15.something) look huge....:pca1:

nice purchase. I bought my dad one for xmas for his 1st computer ever and he's loving it. Got him the VZW evdo usb modem and service now he emails me all the time. :argh:

I almost got myself one but wound up getting another battery for my worn out 12" dell. I love small laptops. :U:

Ive been thinking about buying one of these myself - my laptop is a boatanchor.

Interesting that it comes with Windows.....they sell them up here with Linux installed.

that one was $70 cheaper, was only white and had like 1/2 the HardDrive this one has. this one is like 16GB and that one was 8GB. i prefer the Winders cause all my programs work on it and it is all i am use to. i wouldn't know where to start using Linux....

Nice laptop, good price, I have one kinda like it, really good weight to performance ratio. The Solid State Disk are better then the normal hard drives. :U:

Most all your windows programs will run (not naively, but within a Linux program called CrossOffice or WINE) (Just thought I would throw this in there) :U:

I got my dad the one with a real drive and windows. Actually had trouble tracking it down. WINE is a biatch. I'm a linux junkie but its not worth it trying to emulate windows. You've gotta either do it and learn how to work the console or don't bother.
