I'm really hard on boots, and they get exposed to allot of chemicals

I am a fan of Double H boots but not sure if they have black wellingtons. Ihave only ever had DR Martens in a casual shoe, they were pretty comfortable and were about as good as any when it comes to quality.

mine get the usual...diesel, oil, grease, parts washer solvent, brake cleaner...that kinda stuff. I think i might go with the Dr. Martens and see what happens...the tony lama's look like a good boot but they only got like one pair in black w/ steel toe and they really arent the style im looking for.

heres the boots i wear, i wore the first pair for 18 months before they got to where i couldnt realy wear them. the second pair, i wore as my church and going out boots for 6 months, and work boots for well over a year now. all thats wrong with them is 2 small holes in the side of one of the boots, and i replace the insoles about every 6 months. this is the only pair of shoes/boots i have ever been able to wear all day and my back not hurt.

I don't care how the boots look or feel after a year, I get a new pair regaurdless. My feet and back cost alot more than a new pair of boots, plus its a tax deduction anyways... :ok1:

stkdram55 04-09-2009 01:07 PM

true, thats one reason im starting to look at new boots...they are still structually good...but my legs and feet have been hurting more and more the last few weeks and i think they might be the culprit:madd:

The Docs I had were great boots.. just not for the oilfield..

Tony Llama TLX's is what I wear around the house, most of the time.. they are good boots for being outdoors.. but I wouldnt wanna stand on a concrete floor all day with them..

Alot of guys I know are substituting the Carhart boots with the taller shanks for their redwings.. I think either boot would suit you fine bud.:U:

If you can stand lace ups (I know you stated you would like pull on) I would look at Whites boots or Hathorn (same boot less $$$$) They are well built, last years and can be fully rebuilt. They come in black and with steel toe. If lace up isn't an option I would agree with some of the previous posts....Redwings. IMO they're worth the little extra cash. I'm going to go back to them because no other boot is as well built for what I do.

I have lace ups now just wanting to try a different boot, right now its between the redwings and the Dr. martens
