No dual sport guys huh?? I bought my drz back in 06 and it's takin me miles into the woods and then back and forth to work. Got close to 6k miles on it already. :U: It's setup more for woods than road but hey who needs DOT approved tires and highway gearing lol.

If I ever live closer to work and the mountains, I would definitely like to get a dual sport!! rode a friend's drz400, that's a nice bike.

The guy I bought my bike from also had a KLR for sale. I'm thinking I probably should have bought that instead. We have been getting a crap load of rain lately and I can't get that big bike in and out of my driveway lol 1/2 mile of dirt road then another 1/4 of two track that is greasier than hell. I can do it when I ride my Mothers Suzuki Savage but I don't think I want to with this one.

Oh and someone mentioned a Harley 883. They make the 883 and the 1200 in a Low version that has a little lower center of gravity and a lower seat height. Not by much but it does help.

I ride to work every chance i get. Make a left outta the driveway and it's 7 miles of woods and 5 on road. It takes about 10 mins longer but it so much nicer.

The drz is a tank! I've riddin 100+ mile loops, wide open dirt roads and down to the tightest single track. Then i slap the "dual sport" tires back on and head down the shore. It may not be the lightest bike for hardcore woods ridin but ya learn to throw it around.
