I've always changed my own oil mostly because like nearly everyone else, I enjoy it and I know it's done right.

I change my also.
Don't like anyone working on my truck. |
I change myhown because of the AMSOIL synthetic. If you take it somewhere and they screw it up or put the wrong stuff in it:bat:, they will put it back on you by some statement that it is the customers responsibility to notify them of special requirements:w2:.
OH and it cost between 70 and 100 to have someone put dino oil in it with a stock filter. For that much I can put the AMSOIL in it and only change the oil every 30,000 miles. Change the filters at 10,000 for the full flow and 20,000 for both. At 30,000 I send in the oil sample and wait for the results. IF it comes back OK:ok1:. I change the OIL at 40,000 with both filters. |
i change my own, it was like 60 dollars to have it changed when u have a shop do it

I don't change my oil anymore, everything has synthetic now, truck has had it in there for a year ( but would probably still be within the oil change interval anyways :argh:) , and the jeep , who cares , it's just a 4L, they last forever with cheap dino oil.
my OTR company truck , i told them to just change the filter for me , it seems to "use" ( leak? burn? i have no idea) enough that it has had a complete change by the time the milage comes around anyways :w2: |
I like changing my own oil. It's enough time for at least a six pack!:c:

i change my own oil on everything but my truck... i take it to the stealership quick lube but they know me and let me drive it in and stand there watch them and i tell them if they are doin something i dont like plus they check everything underneath... but it cost 122 bucks
