here's a pic of my daytona 955i....OMG i love the bike. although i do really like the looks of the new daytona's

rkadcock, thats a sweet 675

rkadcock 09-06-2009 10:07 PM

thanks bow2no1! I wish I would have waited the 5 months then I would of gotten the redesigned front end and the 3 extra hp

bow2no1 09-07-2009 06:30 AM

i wouldn't worry about it, the newer version is usually the better version.. you'll never get ahead. personally my style daytona and yours are my 2 favorites. i think there was like 2 others in between where triumph changed to a regular swing arm apposed to the single sided like i have. also they had some with one big head light. instead of 2 small ones. that just doesn't turn me on i guess.
honestly i was going to by a hayabusa, but i found this triumph on CL.
not many triumph guys up here they are pretty rare. but i'll tell yah, i have no regrets!
the bike is fast and handles nice to boot! i never would have seen my self as a triumph fan.

rkadcock 09-08-2009 10:31 AM

Oh I'm not worried. They're always coming out with something bigger and better. I'm 100% satisfied with my daytona. Only had one problem with a spring that wouldn't let the clutch back out but 10 minutes at the shop and haven't had another problem. But I was going to get a GSXR600 at first but the one I wanted sold before I got the money, and after researching I came out ahead and spent less on my daytona

07 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 with chip/cobra pipes. Thinking about a hypercharger on it as well. I LOVE that bike! My old man is on the harley fatboy next to me. Rode them both and have to go with the vulcan; bigger, faster, smoother, more comfortable. The harley sounds better, but not by much

Let me guess, it's a '98?? In '99 they did away with the T595 decal and went with the 955i decal by the Daytona one. I had a red '99 955i Daytona I bought new in '98. Sold it last year with 27,xxx miles on it. :U: Absolutly loved that bike and hated to see it go, but I had to make room for it's replacement, a '99 Ducati 996s. :5:

Rttoys 09-08-2009 12:41 PM

Oh and I also have a yellow '94 Yamaha V-Max in the garage next to it. :U:

yeah, i was thinking of doing away with the currant decals and up date them with 955i ones.
whats up with the t595 any way? the bike is a 955ci engine
i use to have a ducati 748 i loved it! i had a bad winter a few years back and had to let her go. i didn't want to and probably shouldn't have. life goes on i guess.

check out the lights on my bike

Sweet. Looks good!! I loved my Daytona. I had a D&D pipe on mine, K&N and dealer remap to make it all work well. That thing would fly. I did have it up past 165 once, while passing another daytona :U: Slowed down to 120ish just to make the next curve. :tttt: AAHhhh the days of no responsibility. :5:

Do you want to know the top reason I bought it??? In '98 I was 22 years old, been riding a Suzuki Bandit 600 for a few months and was bored with it. I wanted a sport bike and I could easily afford it, except for the insurance. :ouch: A good friend of mine said to get the Daytona. He is an insurance agent (and bike dude for 100 billion years) and said the insurance company doesn't know the difference between the 1200 Daytona (touring bike) and the 955 Daytona (sportbike). :5: I checked it out and sure enough, full coverage for me was like $300 a year :choochoo: So, I ended up with the Daytona. It took about 5 years for the insurance company to catch on, but by then I was older and more experienced, so it only went up a hair. Gotta love it.

that was one reason i bought the daytona, i think full coverage for my was $330 or around there. i couldn't believe it was that cheap.
notice anything funny about the nights on my bike?

Rttoys 09-10-2009 01:28 PM

Ya, you are missing the '3rd eye'. You can't even see where it was. Custom fiberglass? or race faring?

K50 09-10-2009 02:01 PM

My friend just bought an '03 955 Daytona, all black, with power commander. It's a SWEET bike too. He's already knocked it over once and broke off the left mirror though :argh: not very smooth...

I just sold my little kawi...it was my first bike. I'm not sure whether to get a cruiser now or a sport bike as my next bike. I think I'd probably be happy with either one, but I'm not sure which type to go for.

i dunno, doesn't look like the fairing was filled in. looks like some type of aftermarket fairing some one put on? i didn't even know about the 3rd light until i got on a triumph forum and i got wondering why everyone else had 3 lights and i have 2. i dunno, i like it gives me a more unique look compared to others.

:humm: might be a race faring. They are much cheaper than a OEM. I wrecked mine on the left side about a year after I bought it (slow speed high side, hit some gravel, then tires locked, bloop over I go) and destroyed the left side faring. I bought one from Triumph color matched, decals, whole 9 yards and if I remember correctly, it cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 :ouch:

If the bike was wrecked and they replaced the nose piece, the cheaper way would be to get a race faring, then paint it. few questions though:
On the inside of your side farings, is there foam?
Can you find the wireing connector to the '3rd eye' somewhere behind the nose?
Your mirrors are gone, did you do that, or was it like that when you bought it? The mirrors have special screws, I could easily tell the difference and if they were replaced.

It's probably no big deal. Many bikes get dropped and nothing will be wrong with them other than cosmedics, so if everything feels fine and all is tight everywhere, I wouldn't worry about that. Your's is just unique.

so I wanted to wait til it was finished, but I'm getting now where fast especially since I can't find a set of forks I like and ontop of that I can't decide to do chrome hardware of polished black...

But its got a Harley Fat Bob motor (96 ci/1575cc), suicide shifter with brass knuckle grip, 5 gal tank, foot clutch on left hand side, and I plan on running a rear brake only.

Got a custom seat coming out of Texas later this month and hopefully I'll some nice rims and forks so we can paint it and get it out on the street before it gets to cold

That's a GOOD bike, you don't have to do much to clean it up and make it look awesome.
