RECON Accessories - Piss Poor Customer Service!

Not sure if this is the spot for it, BUT if you are even considering buying from these clowns, read below. All this over a $5 light socket.

Here is my argument with Recon Accessories.

What a bunch of F'n clowns!

This is my email string with them below....

My name is REMOVED, my original order number was 12002.

I am having a problem with the reverse light socket on the following product:

264171BK Part # 264171BK - SMOKED LED Tail Lights Dodge RAM 02-09 - Dodge Smoked LED Tail Lights - a-Smoke $299.95 $299.95

I have tested all circuits up to socket and the only place I do not get 12V is at the bulb side of the socket.

There is power at the factory connector, power to the + & - ends of the leads, but no power actually to the bulb.

The bulb type is 3057.

Could you please send me a replacement piece for this item.

We don’t sell or provide sockets for the reverse light bulb…that is an OE item…buy a new one from your dealership.

That should be on the '07 and up trucks. The 07+ trucks use a seperate socket.

The 03 - 06 trucks use a light bar that has 3 bulbs in it.

The reverse bulb itself gets used in your lights, but they came with the socket.

The socket was pre-wired into the wiring harness on your lights.

If needed, I can remove the lights, get a picture of them and the OEM lights to show you the difference.

Here was my last e-mail to "Todd" after I tried calling him today and reached "Ryan" who assured me that I'd get phone call back within the hour.

I waited two hours and sent this......after which I got a phone call from the owner, Heath (who was appologetic, but too little too late), at about 3pm.

Recons products are crap anyway. I went through 2 LED 3rd brake lights. First time half the brake light LED's went out. 2nd one, half the cargo light LED's went out. Junk I'm telling ya!!:argh::argh:

Sounds like a couple of their guys need a refresher
course in customer service. Starting with "don't argue
with the customer". Not that the customer is always right, but
don't argue, and work with them to resolve their situation.

i never had a problem with recon. i have recon LED cab lights and a line of fire from them. The line of fire broke and they replaced it no questions asked.

Customer service seems to be more of luck of the draw. I understand why they don't want to give stuff away. But if they're good, sales will come their way.

Not to disagree, but I've had nothing but great service from them, they replaced my stolen overhead light for nothing and they replaced my xtreme lightbar for free as well when moisture was getting into it and kept blowing the fuse... But I talk to a lady who was super nice and just sent out the parts I needed no questions asked

who else sells led lighting?? i was about to order a set of cab lights and third brake light from them.. but if they are bad to deal with then i may not.

Mr. Motorsports on amazon sells the same led tail lights recon sells. If they were not on sale the amazon deal is 100 bucks cheaper!
