I couldn't ever be a vegetarian... meats too good and I really can't imagine why someone would give it up. :humm:

Atta girl, gotta love those Texas women.
My boss and his best friend both had quadruple bypass surgery a month apart 5 years ago. My boss lost some weight, but still ate most of the pre-surgery foods. His buddy changed to a vegitarian diet, lost a bunch of weight and died just over 1-yr post-surgery. I'm not saying this'll happen to everyone, but the body gets used to a certain diet, and if you drastically change it I believe it shocks your body and may cause further damage or death. My 2-cents.:pca1:

BTW, I'm gonna smoke a brisket this Thursday. Yum-Yum!!

bow, you should tell him to make sure he gets PLENTY of soy protein!! In males, it drastically increases estrogen uptake; one of many reasons the long time veggie/vegan guys are lilly little girls.

the last few years I've been on a quest that until recently I've kinda kept to myself. I'm honestly trying to find a hardcore veggetarian that's healthy and isn't screwed up in the head. and by screwed up, I don't just mean weird to me because they don't like meat; I mean the actual thought process is typically skewed or a warped perception of reality. every single vegetarian I've known seems to have a difficult time staying motivated/on task, have very little energy or drive and they seem to find an intellectual conversation very difficult to follow, even though they typically consider themselves intellectually elite.

seafood(not shellfish) is some of the best lean meat that you can eat, like Jenn said, the fatty acids are to your brain what protein is to building muscles...especially salmon, that's the absolute best nutritional thing you can do for your brain. oh and Jenn, I believe that certain protein you mentioned is only beneficial to women age 18 and up.
