My dogs have always been tied in the back. I'm smart enough to make the rope short enough were he won't fall or jump out.

Two Golden retrievers ride in the back, get in when I tell em to and get out when I tell em to. The only prob is that its a dually and the like to stand on the flares and it scratches em up alittle. Let em jump out or fall out at around 40mph and they learn real quick what they can and can't get away with.

That is the way we train deer down here in South Texas... we usually give them 1 chance to learn not to run across the highway in traffic.

lol

My lab Mack rides in the bed tied up. Im still trying to teach him not to jump out. Everytime i take him down to the creek i unhook him while crossing the field and about 50 feet later he jumps does a roll lands on his feet and keeps running. But hey when your a 2 year old 110 lb lab thats pure muscel that drop doesnt hurt at least he doesnt seem to mind. Ill try and get you guys some pics

Diago rides in the box, hes black lab, heeler, Colie X smart dog, he's tied up in the center. He would never jump out , unless i say "out" , but its illegal to let them ride with out some type of restrant. BIG FINE here, And Chiko he rides on the Dash most of the time or in the side pocket in the back, or right on my lap.
But theres nothing more annoying then walking by a dog thats in the back of the truck, looking like hes going to attack you with the owner yelling SHUT UP ..... now those dogs shouldnt ride in the back.. IMO those owners shouldnt be allowed to have dogs.

I don't think I've ever had a dog that didn't like riding in the truck... unless the last time you took him for a ride the vet took him for his "pride"... :howdy:
