I've been active on at least a half dozen sites through the years and it's been the same every time until here. They start off as just a fun place to hang out and then it turns greedy and becomes a money maker and the big business mentality moves in. That's about the time I move out and find the next one. That's the good thing about this one finally, it was started by a few guys that have been down this road enough times that they were sick of it also. Several local sites out there that manage to keep it for fun but this is the only national site I have found.

Ya, last week I saw a lot of 'red' user names that I didn't reconize and was wondering what was up, plus a few other things that have been happening around.....other sites.

I know just what you mean, big business is killing the middle class, even the mentality of it alone. You don't see guys who own businesses (forum or otherwise) make they're own pay what they deserve (depends on the business, but nobody deserves $1,000,0000 a year, or even half that). Instead of paying their employees good money, and themselves slightly more (after expenses) they work their employees harder to make more money, and then instead of paying the employees more, they take the money for themselves and often don't bother reinvesting it to stay competitive in the long run.

My stepfathers business is one of the best run I've seen. If he has a good year and makes an extra $100K for the business, it gets split up amongst his employee's come Christmas, he gives himself a 5% larger bonus than his guys, but he's not just an owner, he's a carpenter too, so he's getting dirty with the rest of them. I think he deserves more (after all, if a job needs to get done its the owner who stays late and comes in early), but all of his guys respect him for it, and appreciate where they work and who they work for, and it gives them a lot of motivation to work for a business where they split the profits, I wish the company I worked for would do that!

I know it sounds like I'm b#%ching, but I think its absurd that investors who do absolutely zero work make more money than even a janitor working 80 hours a week at years end, and that a CEO who runs a company into the ground can still get a multi-million dollar bonus come years end, while the people underneath him get laid off or have a wage freeze. :booo:

I understand the power of a free market economy, but you would HOPE that a persons conscience would outweigh their greed... Apparently this country has very few upper managers with good souls.
