I work at a tree farm, and the other day I put 5, 7 foot Christmas trees into a Toyota Carolla. I didn't think we could do it, but the lady was determined, she wouldn't even put them on the roof... They were in the car.

I once was in a group of people who were collectively a jack of all trades. Together we could accomplish some things people thought weren't possible.

We built a lot of street race cars and seldomly raced them on the track but did on occation to check the ET after a big change in something so we would know how close certain street races would be....

Anyway i said all that to say the last car I helped them build I wired it from front to back, no factory wiring at all in it, it was a full custom job. The problem was we had gotten a hold of a HUGE spool of red wire. SO, the entire harness was red wire. Grounds, activation wires, hot wires, lighting, nitrous, ignition, fuel pumps.... so now whenever i do some wiring on my own stuff, anyone who knew that car asks me if the wiring i am doing is all red...... the car went 6.40's on an iron headed stock bottom end 302 in a Fairmont...... so i guess the wiring worked ok.....

Wouldn't call it rigged, but using what is available to get the job done.....

Wow. I now have a new definition of " Custom" I guess it worked out.

I'd hate to have to chase down a wiring issue if all the wires were red :scare2:

Someone seriously needs to show that lady the little pine trees that hang from your mirror for that fresh pine scent:s:

hey, anything I do is "custom".... I would have rather used proper wire colors, but at the time we had limited funds and that wasn't an option

when you do something, you know where the wires go, no matter what the color is, but someone from the outside looking in it is a little intimidating.

Used to have a salvage car dealer that pulled his two car gooseneck with a ford galaxy. He put a 460, truck 4 speed and 3/4 ton rear end on it. The gooseneck went right behind the back window threw the sheet metal. He did this so he could run car plates and go to any weight he wanted. I think he was in Ohio and a state trooper stopped him. Said he didn't know if it was legal or not but if he saw him again it was going to be a long stay to find out. Really weird looking with a 30 some foot trailer hooked to a car. He had several before this put together also.

Truck Guy99 12-15-2012 10:20 AM

 The galaxy is the best one yet!!!! By through the sheet metal, do you mean the ball was in the trunk lid instead of the frame?

gwhammy 12-16-2012 06:02 AM

Went threw the sheet metal to the frame. It really caught your eye with that big gooseneck and two cars behind it.
