8.3 Cummins P pump
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but if I was looking for a p pumped 8.3 for a project where should I look for them? Like what years and vehicles and whatnot, what are the good years? I'm not sure if this has been covered, I tried searching on here and google and haven't really turned up much. thanks.

freightliners on craigslist.

Basically 93-97 will likely have a P-pump. Obviously, higher hp will be better. They were in freightliners, F7&800, motorhomes, and a ton of other applications.

'94-'98 12-valve cummins have p-pumps. I'm not sure what kind of truck you're wanting to put it in, but in order to swap a 24-valve to a p-pump, you will need a conversion kit. P-pumps can get pretty expensive though definitely worth it!!

The 93-97 8.3's have a P-pump. The Med Duty trucks were a year ahead of what Dodge got.
It would be very costly to put a P-pump on an ISC. There's places that do a 5.9 for much less. Way easier just finding an engine you want, and deal with whatever truck it comes with. |
I was just thinking about a cool swap I would like to do down the road, a P pumped 8.3 in a early '90s F350 crewcab.

yea, is that a 8.3?
|
It is, and P-pumped. I saved it off diesel stop's site a few years ago. Not sure how much, but it has a healthy body lift. Them engines are taller than a DT466.
|
Are the DT466 easy to modify?
