Yeah, I want to build (to my mind anyway) the ultimate hotshot rig, and I wanted one to put on it. Ran hotshot about 3 years ago with a 2nd gen Dodge Cummins 3500, and thought it sucked that everytime I hit a hill in the summer, I had to kill the AC and broil so the dang truck wouldn't overheat. Yes they do. They are (to the best of my knowledge) round, and about 6 inches across. Generally mounted on top of or behind the sleeper or cab towards the top.

You're right they are round more like a foot across and usually white. The AC unit you posted the link to also mounts on the rear wall of the sleeper, not on top. The roof mounted ones are most likely 110 units like an RV and have an on board generator to power them wich also comes in handy for a TV, microwave, etc. :c:

With all the electronics that new trucks have onboard (before you add all the electonics that the driver adds) The LAST thing that trucks can handle is cooling the sleeper to a comfy temp in 90+ degree heat from the bloody batteries! :nope::nope::s::s:

Someone down there needs a bit o' this :bat::bat::bat: !!!

Thanks Tiremann, I put a lot of thought into the details on it. Of course, I was thinking about adding an APU...still am really, since the engine is already illegal in the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia.

Finally got passed by a van that had one of these today at a slow enough speed I could write down the name on the unit! (Who sez rush hour traffic has NO uses! lol) While I was looking for information on them, I found reference to another unit. Check these out.

The second unit is talking about a split unit...but it is a varient on their non-split one if I am reading it right.

I would probably lean that way too...but my current thought is to find out if I can get either one of them here! lol Since both seem to be for the european market. I will find a carrier dealer and ask about it. (probably easier than finding the italian company! lol)
