FEDERALLY you are REQUIRED to have a DOT# if you cross state lines and are over 10,000 pounds. Even a "Private Carrier", or "Not For Hire", carrier hauling their own property in interstate Commerce is required to have a DOT number. Check this site out, it'll answer a lot of questions and clear up some misconceptions: Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Mark. |
