2nd gen sub box, subs and amp?

hey guys, looking to add a little "thump" to my truck, any particular boxes youd recommend? im lookin at Alpine type R subwoofers now with probably an Alpine amp of an unknown amperage yet. Id like to keep as much of my stereo Alpine as i can, as i feel components of the same brand play better together and sound better.

However, if anyone has any suggestions/comments your more than welcome to reply with em, im looking for ideas and options so let me know.

Im very up in the air about a box!

Hy Cummins Crazed,
just a small note: Don't have that "stick-to-the-brand" feelings. Yes, it is intended by the manufacturer, but there is no reason to do so.
All brands are following ISO standards. They don't care what is behind or in front of a sound system. So you can feel free to choose from the wide variety of electronics.

It's a fact that Japanese are still not that good in subs. And every real american prefers a .45 over a .38, right?

So as a short summarization american made amps and subs are still of a very high value- at least in europe!

Just remember a single thought. What you buy is what you get. Don't get distracted by blinking Led's or lights on amps. Do you want to listen to your hard earned dollars or just watching Tokyo at night?

I will not tell you what to buy- there are so many dealers knowing better. Just spend some time there and make sure they don't use any bass extenders or equlizers and stuff like that.
This will be the main guarantee that you will enjoy your sound for many, many years.

Custom fiberglass bottom box housing 2 - 12" Orions. They sound really good!

I have a custom box from bright star car audio. Its for 2 12'' to go under the seat. Its pretty tight but it fits good and sounds good. You have to buy shallow mount subs though. I bought shallow mount pioneers and sounded great. I'm getting rid of my 98, and i'm selling my box. Let me know if interested.

If you are looking for a big amp in a small footprint, look into Soundigital, or Stetsom. They are packing big power.

As far as subs go, 90% of the sound quality is in the box/install. You could make some rear seat spacers/risers to give you a little bit more room to work with which will open up your sub options. Pick your subs to match your airspace available.
