Default 1995 7.3 power stroke will run untill it dies

my uncle has a 1995 7.3 power stoke. it will start right up ideal smooth runn great and the after about 20min it will cut out.. run ruff for a couple seconds and then done. after it dies it will not start up again... if you wait about two hours. it fires right up like there was no problem with it... i have check for air in the lines but there is not any up to the bleed port. any one had this problem? there is no chexk engine light ether

check my thread about two weeks ago its a 96 read my thread exact same symptoms. just got my pcm back 10 minutes ago working on it now will let you know the outcome. signed always stuck in diagnostics!

Sounds like an injector issue. May have to pull the valve covers and when it dies crank on it. Look for an injector leaking oil like this one...


Truck would run fine, good... then once the oil got about about 120* it would run rough, and die. Would not restart until the oil cooled.

No SES light, no codes.

Took me about a week off and on to track it down.

we fixed it!!! we had to put in 6 cranck sencors and finaly got it to work my dad told me you mys well get a pocket full when you buy them because half of them come in bad.. it took six trys!!!

6 CPS's? I hightly doubt you fixed it. More then likely the issue is just hiding.

Did you verify no tach signal with each of them, or just because it didnt start it must be the CPS?

I agree it sounds to much like the problem i am having but i like the oil pressure theory from csipsd. by the way csipsd i sent you a private message need some help from you could you check messages and get back to me. sorry about using this thread to contact you but thought it was worth a shot.

yes we checked the tac and thats how we would conferm that they didnt work.
