I've searched the site for the problem I'm experiencing but couldn't find a solution.

My truck has received oil/filter changes regularly. I recently changed the air filter and had the tranny serviced by Ford at 200K a month ago. I hadn't had any issues with it until a few weeks ago while I was traveling to Dallas. I had been cruising at 75mph for about 50 miles and all of a sudden I lost all power. I shifted to neutral and tried to restart but the engine would just turn over/crank without starting/firing up. I pulled over to the side of the road and parked, tried to restart and engine just turned over but would not start. I replaced the cam position sensor and still wouldn't start. Had truck towed home and I replaced the fuel filter and it wouldn't start. Towed to Ford dealer and was told I had the wrong fuel filter (although the one I removed looked exactly like the one I replaced it with)so had them put in another new filter and they asked for my original fuel filter cap so that was installed as well. They got it running, but said fuel wasn't flowing properly so the mechanic cleaned everything and then said it was running fine. I took off for Dallas and no more than 10 miles out of town I felt a hesitation/slight jerkiness; however, it hasn't stalled nor died. The hesitation/jerkiness is not constant, but it is there and mostly felt while driving at highway speeds. I took it to another diesel mechanic who put it on a computer and there were no trouble codes; however, he felt the hesitation when he ran motor at 2000-2500 rpm. He checked the injectors and said everything was fine, but that I needed to continue driving it until it got worse and hopefully a trouble code would surface. I've driven the truck over 500 miles with this hesitation/jerkiness but no trouble codes. Has anybody experienced this and if so what was the fix for it? Thanks much for your time.

 

ipr valve o-rings. it coluld be that. any problems you have and no code means its not a sensor

 

I'm not a PS mechanic but could the lift pump be gettin weak

 

well if fuel isn't flowing properly according to the ford mech., then i'd say ful pump. in the valley right in front of the turbo.
