Question new to the 6.0

I am used to Cummins But have a 6.0 now. After I do the mods in my signature do I need to do any fuel system upgrades or any other upgrades before running big tunes on the sct?

Typically... no. Gauges would be about it. You'll want to monitor fuel pressure, some guys have issues, but most don't. There is an updated fuel pressure regulator spring from Ford that would be a good idea to put in. Just make sure you get tuning from a well known vendor, ie: Innovative Diesel, GoGo Diesel, Gearhead Diesel, etc. Good tuning is the key to transmission life.

Other than that... no.

A hot tuned 6.0 should run about 415-430rwhp and 750-790rwtq with no other mods.

I am goiing to do the upgraded ford spring kit and the 6.4 banjo bolts. Great deal for only a 100 dollars. My insight cts is going on today for gauges. I am going to have Innovative diesel do the tuning so I should be good to go. I'm glad the airdog 2 isnt needed that saves me 700 dollars over a cummins build .

Personally, I'm waiting until I push a head gasket to stud mine.

Avoid a mistake I made, evaluate your oil cooler when you do you EGR delete, it's RIGHT THERE when you're doing an EGR delete. I didn't last November, it's July and I'm gathering parts for an oil cooler change.

Don't forget an EGT gauge or probe for your CTS and a fuel psi gauge.

the oil cooler and egr delete and coolant filtration is all being done with the head studs since it will already be apart. I know i need to order a EGT probe for my insight but I thought the edge sight said the insight CTS would monitor fuel pressure on a 2004 6.0L?

It will, once you buy the correct adapter for it haha.

Sounds like you're on the right track here. You can monitor ECT and EOT easily with your CTS too!

ya ECT, EOT, EGT, BOOST, TRANS TEMP, and FUEL PRESSURE is what I wanted the CTS for . Is there anything else I should be concerned about watching?

Also what all do I need to buy for the CTS to monitor fuel pressure? I know what I need to buy to watch the EGT.

it looks like it would cost about 400 to add fuel pressure to the CTS is this my cheapest option or is there a cheaper option out there like a standard gauge and pod?

A cheaper option than the CS/CTS, but with the same monitoring capabilities will be the DashBoss for iOS devices (iTouch/iPhone/iPad/).

For $300 you will be able to monitor everything right on the iOS device, including EGT and Fuel Psi. $170 for the DashBoss OBDII module, $100 for EGT probe/box, and $30 for fuel psi.

Plus you can data log and view as a graph or in a CSV spreadsheet. Can also read/clear DTC, performance logs, video out to an external monitor (aftermarket screen radio), and more.

You can monitor 24 PID's with a swipe of the screen. In Digital view screen, you can watch 12 PID's, then swipe finger on screen to watch 12 more PID's on Dash view screen.
