Default 2002 Duramax 276k miles To buy or not to buy....

So i sold my 94 Cummins and am looking at this 02 Duramax...

276k on the clock, stock Allison tranny - he says has never slipped
Injectors replaced 18 months ago
Lifted, but front end is tight
Never been modified performance wise, Never chipped...
Clean inside and out..
Is it worth the 8900? Or should i pass and try and find something else?

My biggest concern is the miles on it... But maybe i shouldnt be?

That is a lot of miles... Im sure the motor is still okay, esp if the injectors were done. But that many miles on a stock trans scares me

I bought one with 270 on the odometer , it's a good running and driving truck. I only gave 4000 for it , but it needed injectors. It currently has an issue getting fuel pressure , but I figure it's cheaper to spend a little on this one , than to fork over 4 times as much for one with low miles. just my .02

I know 'of' a couple guys w/ near or even over half a million on their Duramax's, but can't remember if they are LB7's or not. I might be tempted if I wanted another LB7.

But, I'd want him to come down on the price, some. It could last a long time if it has been taken care of.

If you check out 2500HD's sticky on replacing the injectors, you might not be so scared about that. It really isn't too bad. I used his instructions and changed mine. It did take me a week, but I also had other people needing me to do other things and I am very slow.

And, since they were recently changed, as long as they were done properly, it should last a long time. You need a good filtration, there are a few options. I am about to install an airdog, for mine. I wanted to as soon as I replaced my injectors, but had to wait for fundage.

Anyway, sorry response is so long, but bottom line is. It would depend on the truck, for me. If I was buying an LB7. I don't want to get rid of mine. I love it, but don't want a second one. I would like to find a NBS, myself for a second truck.

I've got 300,000 on mine Bought it with 264,000 I had to do head gaskets around 284,000 but when I pulled the heads the cylinders still has the crosshatching and a clutch at 290,000 Granted I'm about to sink some money into it with some front end work, and possibly a pump rub kit, but I wouldn't trade it. There are times repairs are a lot cheaper than a truck payment. If I had to do it again I would still have bought my truck.
