Default Help needed to see what engine year and problems with oil pressure

Hello board this is my first time here.I have a problem i bought a 94 power stroke not running so i got it home and put some batts in to try to get it started i noticed i have no lpop filling up the hpop.I then filled the hpop up and still get nothing checked pressure from hpop nothing looked inside the hpop cover no oil coming in.From reading on here the 94-95 have a check valve behind timing cover i how no place for that plug would this be a newer engine everything on truck tells me its a 94 but the timing cover is different also it didnt have a ecm i used 1 from my brothers 97 would that make a differencse withy the lpop i wouldn't think so but i don't work on these things everyday

it could very well be the lpop, once you fill up the hpop res and you crank it, is the res empty again?

sounds like the pickup tube. also, while you have the pan off. if your dipstick tube is leaking. i'd reseal that.
