Default I can't believe I'm saying this but I dont think i can do it. advice would be awesome

I have the 2003 model F250 and i was just outside in the dark with a flashlight for the past 2 hours trying to change that STUPID@SS ICP sensor. I'm EXTREMELY frustrated right now and can't figure out why in the *bleep* I can't get it out. I moved the coolant reservoir to the side out of the way, removed the FICM completely, took off both the connectors back there to have a TINIEST space ever, and I couldn't get the *bleeper* out. I tried using a 1 1/16" socket that fits it and it was a 1/2" set. Is that what I am doing wrong? Does it make much of a difference if i use a 3/8" set. I had to walk down the street quite a ways to pick up a couple wrenches already and really don't wanna get to that point again. I have never been halted to bad by a mechanical piece before. Is there a better way? using a knuckle or anything? I just don't see it managing to fit but if ANYONE has some advice I would SOOOOOOOOOOOO greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your help and sorry for the man menstrual bitch fit that i'm having over here.

I had to cheat myself, I welded a bolt into a socket so I could get a wrenc on it, I stuck the 3/8 bolt into the 1/2" square and welded it from the inside using a stick welder, then i was able to put a wrench on it to loosen it because there is no way a socket driver will fit

What also works is a 1 1/16 wrench cut down to 4.5".

Took 3 long hours and a lot of frustration but I got it. Used a socket and a knuckle. Had to bend heat shiekd back but got it.
