Default motor and tranny swap

I have two F-350's, one 96 and one 97. I'm pulling the motor out of the truck with and auto tranny and its going in to a truck with a 5-speed. A couple questions. 1, the auto motor looks like it has a 1 inch adapter plate, does that also mate up to the 5-speed. While I have the motor out is there any things i should do power wise or maintance wise. this is my first diesel and any help is appreciated. I should also mention it came with a Edge evelution 15000 programmer. Thanks for your help

Need to remove the spacer for the manual... The auto spacer is thicker.

Is there a spacer for the 5-speed, or does it just mount to the block?

Yes there is a spacer that goes behind the flywheel. If you forget it you will know when you try to mount the starter.
