Default What's Your CB Radio Set-Up? Pics?

I just picked up my new Super Duty last Friday and I'd like to start putting together my CB radio set-up.

I'm thinking I'm going to get the new Cobra 29LX tuned and peaked with the RFX-75 added. I could probably do this myself, but I'd rather buy it from a reputable CB shop that has properly tuned, peaked, and aligned it.

For antennas, I'll probably go with the Dual Firestik II Kit. I like the looks of two whips and with the Firestik II, you have a screw adjuster on the tip for tuning rather than having to cut wire. Gotta figure out how I'm going to get a good ground on the mount though. I'm not anxious to drill holes in the bed.

With that set-up, I should be swinging around 120 watts or so.

Here's a video and review of the radio paired with the RFX-75...

I'm interested to see how people have mounted the radio in the cab. I'm really trying to figure out how to do it without drilling any holes in the dash. I'm think a bracket extending from under the dash or maybe (my favorite option) sticking the radio in one of the center console cubbies and using industrial velcro or snap-lock for adhesion.

Let me know what you guys use and what works well. Pictures speak a thousand words!

i don't have a picture of it but i have mine haning above the rear view mirror. i just screwed it to the crossmember above the headliner. i can understand not wanting to drill a bunch of holes in a week old pickup. but for the antennas you will probably have to.

I've been thinking about it and I'll probably get a diamondplate toolbox and actually bolt it to the bed ensuring a good contact under the bed rails, then mount the antenna mounts on the sides of the toolbox. That's the way I did my Dodge and it worked out pretty good.

Firestik does have these Stake Hole Mounts, but I'm not sure how well they'll work.

i have never seen those. those would probably be alright but you might have to gring some paint off or run a seperate ground wire.

I've got the new Cobra 29 50th anniversary with all digital display, display color is set on blue, with direct wired to battery, 2 fire sticks, only one is hooked up, cause I've noticed with 2 antennas I dont get as great reception. But it looks like both antennas are hooked up. And they are directly mounted to the sides of the toolbox. And it is mounted to the bottom of my cup holder.. but I'm thinking of mounting it in the plastic bezel under the cub holder so if I need to i can actually put it up.. haha. ill have tp try n post pics later..

I have a galaxy 959, I had it built by "Jersey" at the petro down in knoxville TN, Im not going to comment on how much power it will put out, because I dont know exacty, but it is way north of 100W, had him put an echo board in it too, but I keep the echo turned way down, if I use it at all, I never use it when I am under escort.
