Default Using oil between changes

07 with 50k on the clock. Truck was about 2 quarts low at oil change, does not blow any white smoke and still has plenty of power and no codes. I have a smarty jr on 30 hp and a 5 inch straight with a k&n filter and intake tube on the truck. It has me stumped but i am thinking maybe a turbo seal, any help and ideas would be appreciated.

are you running synthetic oil and if so when did you change over from m ineral based oil. if its not broke in yet and ya went synthetic then the oil is going out the tailpipe

I have seen theis up to 70k miles and the only way to get it broke in is to go back to dino oil for awhile..............if you dont tow these trucks they dont break in very well

Yes i am running synthetic oil since 30k, and just did a fresh change today with synthetic. I towed about 8k about 30 miles no major problems but after towing is when i noticed the oil level difference. Thanks for the input more is very welcome

After towing? It may not be "using oil", but the oil may literally be "boiling" off...I had this happen when using Rotella 15w40 CJ-4...I would lose almost two quarts of volume after running hard for extended periods, oil analyses indicated the oil had significantly thickened (which indicates boil off).

But synthetic should prevent that issue?
