hello im new to diesel and i was given a 94 f250 with a psd direct injection the question i have is that i cant scan the truck it tells me unable to connect no matter what scanner i hook to even the super chips scanner/programmer also checked all fuses including the cig lighter and i seen some where on a old post that i need to flash my computer with new software are what else can i do with out having down time like maybe a computer from a 97 etc thanks and one more question is are is my truck not obd2 cause i do understand that all other obd2 systems came out in 96 and newer ty sorry for any confusing information

 

i had the same problem with my 97 and i got it flashed and it fixed the problem, and the 94s should have the obd2 port just like the newer ones

 

who did you send it into are did you take it to the stealership ?

 

ya i sadly went to the stealership,they charged me 90 bucks.

 

i dont think my truck runs long enough to take it there i can trailer it but then i dunno if they will flash ecu like that

 

what is wrong with the truck? and its called a PCM

but if you dont need the truck up and running fast you can always take out your PCM and send it to Jody at DP Tuner and he can flash it.

 

theres alot going on with my truck i guess the old owners dumped a bunch of money into it like they changed the idm,injectors wiring harness cps and never got it to run rite well now i got ahold of it first off i changed oil etc check for oil in hpop res then took the fuel bowl and replaced all the hpop lines fuel lines hoses etc drained the fuel tank then it started to run but really rough i then drove the truck for days rough and then it cleared up ran good for about a good month are so then back to same ol thing

 

is it making any smoke at operating temp? and if it is what color is it? does a check engine light come on?
