Default small engine question

i have a techumseh 4000 generator i bought at a yard sale runs great there are a few things id like to add to it first is a kill switch it doesnt have one on it and in order to kill it i have to pull the spark plug wire off or choke it to kill it what would be the best way to add a kill switch to something that doesnt have one alread? i hooked a wire from the top of the coil to try and ground it out but does nothing now if i hook to the same part of the coil and conect it to the top of the spoark plug it does kill it so i put it on a toggle switch and it runs like **** untill i take the wire off

most kill switchs are just wired in parallel with the spark plug. when you flip the switch it shorts out the spark plug and the engine stops.

for a magneto setup it would be something like this:

now if it uses an ignition coil then just use the switch to break the power to the primary side of the coil
