Default 2006 intermittent rough idle

Hello! I have been experiencing rough start and rough idle every couple of starts. Most of the time it starts and runs fine, but more frequently it has been taking a couple more seconds to turn over and then idles rough for a period of time. It doesn't do this every start, and it will settle out after driving a few miles. I recently changed out my airdog filter, but have not changed the water seperator yet (about 50k+ on seperator, new type cellulose media). Does this sound like an injector going? Anything else I can look at before blaming the injectors? How do I go about determining which injector is bad if that is the case and where can I get good quality reman. units from? Thanks!

You can take it to a stealership and have an injector kill test ran to determine if an injector isn't operating correctly.

Probably cost you around $90 but if it isnt doing the rough idle at that time it wont show anything. I suggest pulling the injectors and having them flow tested. We have seen too many engines that have been drove with bad injectors and it causes serious engine damage. Ie broken rings and melted pistons.

Bench testing usually costs $30-45 each plus the labor for r&r

Sent with a Droid RAZR in one hand and 14,000 volts in the other.

Where would you suggest sending them to be flow tested? How involved will pulling the injectors be, I have not pulled them? Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it!

R&R on them takes about 3 hours if your not pushing. We get $35 each to send them to a local shop. There are a few places around that do it. Scheid diesel does it at their terra haute shop.
