Default Edge Comp differences

Alright guys so this has probably been covered but I've been looking into getting an Edge comp but they make two different ones, 98.5-2000 and 01-02. Well my truck is a 99 with the 01 motor and trans so what one do I need to get?

What is the difference between the two?

Thanks guys!

Physically the only difference is the MAP sensor plugs. Programming, I am not sure.

With the quadzilla, there was a jumper on the circuitry that needed to be removed for use on the early 24v 2nd gens. And like RAW said, the plugs are different. As for the Edge...call em.

I was figuring the 01. I'll have to look later after work. Thanks!! Edge said the same thing if it has the 01 motor you probably need the 01 Edge but they weren't 100 % sure

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

looks like the 01-02 senors has an oval plug where the 98.5-00 has a round plug. Thanks!!

the only difference should be the data link connector which the 98.5 to 00 uses the triangular plug and the 01 02 uses a flat fat 3 prong connecter. the 98.5 to 00 comes with the adapter for the newer data link connector. so just check what data connector you have

I would say the 01 also. If the motor is a 01 you would need a 01 comp. Basically all the edge is doing is hooking up to the engine in between the sensors and the on board computer and intercepting and making adjustments for the correct air/fuel ratio, ignition timing and then sends all this new information to the vehicle's computer.
I can't believe Edge wasn't for sure

Now that I think about it. I think when I had my edge comp for my 01 I gave it to friend to try and all we did was call edge and got a different map plug. So I would say they are the same box with just different style plugs
