First of all, whats up guys? My name is Austin and i just bought a 1983 F250 6.9l!
It has some sort of old turbo kit on it(ill post a picture tomorrow to see if any of you know what it is or anything )
But right when i turned it off today i took off the air intake and i notice some smoke coming out of the intake. Is that normal? and when it running some smoke comes out of the dip stick? i know i might sound like a nood but i dont know much about these old diesels . also what would be some good begining mods? besides getting up to spec.

Sounds like some blowby, might get new CDR or do a compression test and go from there

 

that is normal. no worry about it. ANY motor with high compression like ours will do that.

 

Don't know bout yours, but in all mine I don't have it enough to blow out the dipstick

 

if the stick is removed like i think he is saying, it will puff out the tube.

 

Its not removed but it old and there was a hole in the top and it doesnt fit to tightly anymore. Thanks guys! And hey DieselCrawler, im gunna send you a pm. i have a couple questions if you dont mind?
